The daughter of Oklahoma City pioneers, Judge Seymour and Mary Grace Steward, Olive May Steward worked as a teller at First National Bank for many years and grew to love her city and community.
After her death in 1994, a gift in her will established a fund to serve the basic welfare and health needs of the people of Oklahoma City. The Olive May Steward Fund for Human Services has been used to support direct service organizations working with the poor and disabled, to construct a medical clinic and to assist with services for those going from welfare to work.
