G. Ed Hudgins' last name provided the "H" in the Oklahoma City-based architecture and engineering firm of HTB, Inc. After graduating from Chickasha High School, Mr. Hudgins earned degrees in engineering and architecture from Oklahoma A&M College in Stillwater.
Following his service in the U.S. Navy during World War II, Hudgins returned to Oklahoma City and rejoined his business partners, Ralph Ball and Verlin Thompson. Together, they ran a successful firm where he served as executive vice president and later as president until his retirement in 1984.

Following Mr. Hudgins' death in 1993, a gift from his estate established the G. Ed Hudgins Family Fund at the Oklahoma City Community Foundation. The fund continues to support a number of charitable organizations and causes that were important to Mr. Hudgins.
