One of only 13 Rotarians worldwide to register more than 60 years of perfect attendance, Ed Leslie was an example of a selfless individual. After serving in World War II, Ed returned to Oklahoma City, where he married his wife Norma. Together they shared a lifelong motto: "Service above self." After concluding a successful career in insurance sales, Ed decided it was time to give back to several community organizations he had been active in during his earlier years.
In 1996, the Leslies established an advised fund at the Oklahoma City Community Foundation to support the nonprofits they cared about. After Ed's death in 2002 and Norma's two years later, it came to no surprise to their friends that they had left the majority of their estate - nearly $2 million - to charitable interests, continuing their legacy of service above self.
