Born in Chicago in 1929, Carolyn Nuckolls enjoyed traveling the world. She married Oklahoma oil man Alvin Nuckolls and the couple were faithful members of the First Presbyterian Church of Oklahoma City. Carolyn was a longtime member of the Ladies Music Club, a group formed in 1908 to bring culture to the new state of Oklahoma. Throughout the years, the Ladies Music Club has hosted scores of musical performances in the community, as well as encouraging aspiring musicians through a local scholarship competition.
Carolyn held a deep appreciation for music and was a quiet supporter throughout her life of an endowment for the Ladies Music Club at the Oklahoma City Community Foundation. She hoped to build the fund to help the club expand its musical outreach. After Carolyn's death in 2015, the group was surprised to learn of a substantial gift Carolyn left to the endowment through her will. Thanks to Carolyn's generosity, the Ladies Music Club will be able to continue sharing their enjoyment of music with audiences throughout the community for years to come.
