Ann Simmons Alspaugh

Oklahoma native Ann Simmons Alspaugh was taught the value of giving back to the community from an early age. As the granddaughter of oil executives and the stepdaughter to a major advertising executive, she used her position to positively influence the community. As one of her first major acts of service, she partnered with her mother and sister to found the L.B. and Ola W. Simmons Community Activities Center in Duncan, Oklahoma.

Education was of essential importance to Ann, as it was something she believed no one could take away. She encouraged her children to pursue their degrees while setting an example of exceptionalism, grace under pressure, elegance, manners and style. She took great pride in her work in the community serving countless organizations and earning numerous awards.

Her contributions throughout her many years of service were invaluable. From 1983 until her death in 2016, financially supporting a number of charitable organizations including Oklahoma City Ballet, Oklahoma City University and the Payne Education Center through gifts to their endowments at the Oklahoma City Community Foundation.
